The 5 Principles of Reiki
- Just for today be grateful. …
- Just for today let go of worry. …
- Just for today let go of anger. …
- Just for today work honestly. …
- Just for today be kind.
These five principles are the spiritual “tenets†of Reiki. But I will say they are not exclusive to Reiki practitioners. I envision that most people live their lives with these ideals in mind whether it be a conscious thought or not. I do not think I have found yet a person who rejects these principles whether they practice Reiki or have never heard of it.
Let’s step back a bit
What is Reiki
The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words. Rei (ray)means “God’s wisdom†or “Higher intelligence†or “divine†kiâ€(key) is flowing in everything “life force energy†KI is also known as Chi of China, prana of India, and Ti of the Hawaiians. The word Reiki means Spiritually Guided Life Force. Reiki was developed by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Urui Sensei, while on a 21-day spiritual retreat. He is the founder of the Reiki healing system in 1922
“Reiki†Is a Japanese hand on energy healing technique for relaxation and stress reduction which also promotes healing. Reiki is based on the unseen “life force energy†that flows through all living things. Since Reiki Energy isn’t restricted by time and separation, removed Reiki Healings can likewise be given without the customer being available. It is effortlessly done and works well overall. In the event that your “life power vitality” is low you are bound to feel stressors or become ill, yet in the event that it is high, wellbeing and satisfaction are more probable. Reiki is non-physical healing life force energy. This completely benign non-invasive healing technique is becoming more and more popular. Reiki is now practiced in the western world, particularly in the United States and Europe. Reiki practitioners can now be found working in hospitals where they assist patients during critical medical procedures. Western medicine continues to explore alternative methods of healing and Reiki is destined to play an important role as an accepted and valued healing practice.
Back to Happiness
Anyone regardless of spiritual belief or not can echo these principles, whether they be Christian, Jewish, Atheist or whatever! They are a moral code and can stand alone.
Common sense really, right?
Just like many things, Reiki “principles†are simple but not so easy. Know the distinction! These principles are easy enough to apply to everyday living and for your highest spiritual endeavor.
These principles make up the core part of Reiki history. You do not have to remember them verbatim, nor do you have to reframe your entre spiritual program around them. It is important though, especially as a Reiki practitioner, to be aware of them.
Now a good way to “know†these principles is to grow a relationship with them. Meditation or journaling may really help you to understand how they may apply to your daily life. See how they ring through for you and how true they feel for you. Nothing in life is meaningful unless it means something to you!
Let’s take a look at these principles
“Just for Todayâ€â€¦
Kind of feels doable, right? Just for today and not the ridiculous expectations we set for ourselves for tomorrow, next week, next year, or the rest of our lives, but just for today! All the other days after you can mess up all you want, but just for today and just now just in this moment take it one step at a time. Doesn’t that make you feel more relaxed?
So let’s understand something. Just for today, it does not mean that you should go out on a bender or exhibit some sociopathic behavior. NO! What is does mean is instead of trying for perfection of your daily pursuits now and forever, to try and do the very best you can today right now and go on from there one step at a time.
Robin Sharma quoted – “Your days are your life in miniature. As you live your hours, so you create your years. As you live your days, so you craft your life. What you do today is actually creating your future. The words you speak, the thoughts you think, the food you eat, and the actions you take are defining your destiny — shaping who you are becoming and what your life will stand for. Small choices lead to giant consequences over time. There’s no such thing as an unimportant day.â€
Just for today, let go of your anger, let go of your worry. Just for today be kind, be honest, and be grateful. Understand and trust that each positive action you do today will resound with you all your future days.
Use this daily, recite this daily, know them, understand them, and live a life of more contentment and happiness!
